Lamborghini Murciélago LP 670-4 SuperVeloce ‘09

Another day, another GT super car. This time I bought the Murciélago SuperVeloce. A mouthful to say and a handful to drive. This model sports the latest evolution of the fighting bull, with a midship mounted V12, 6496cc beast of an engine powering the car up to 661BHP. Originally this car was purchased with the intent of completing a seasonal time trial event at Indianapolis Super Speedway, but unfortunately it couldn’t cut the mustard.

I have fully worked this machine, increasing the power output to just shy of 700 horses (692), and lightening the weight of the car by some 300kg’s by using carbon fibre parts (as you can see the carbon hood pictured). Weighing in now at only 1268 kg, it also greatly improved the handling of the car. Driving this thing is still like arm wrestling an alligator, but I like it. And hey, what would my GT5 garage be without a Lamborghini right?

Seasonal Event - 690BHP Super Speedway - Indianapolis Time Trial #15

GT by Citroën Concept ‘08

Now for a super car. This concept car was purchased for a cool $2mil for one purpose only: to beat the seasonal time trial event which was closing in less than a day! Being a concept car, this machine is pure fiction. That is, you won’t see it on the roads any time soon. Apparently sporting over 700BHP with an electric powered engine, it sounds more like a vacuum cleaner than a car when I start it up. Not to mention it looks like something that would feature in a Transformers film. It also seems to lack a racing transmission. Listed as ‘automatic’ it has one gear - Drive. Needless to say it got the job done after around 15 laps on the Indianapolis Super Speedway. The GT by Citroën clocked an impressive time of 0:53:880 seconds, ranking me at 10,158 on the leaderboard. My prize? Some new driver outfits, helmets, a trophy, $1m prize money and my name forever etched on the world leader-boards.

Shelby GT350R ‘65

My third car purchase was an impulse buy. Browsing the used car dealerships I noticed this classic 1965 American muscle car. I must admit I have a soft spot for cars from this era. With only 11,000 mileage on it and for a relatively cheap price I could not go past it. I rebuilt the 289CI OHV V8 engine while leaving everything else on the racing Mustang stock. Pictured is racing the World Classic Car Series with soft tyres which it placed first overall. The sound of the classic V8 brings a smile and it’s ability to slide into corners make it a lot of fun to drive.

My second car purchase. Currently racing the Supercar Festival: Tsukuba Circuit. Full racing modifications have been done to the car. The pictures show the stock rear wing and rims. Fully tuned she reaches over 800 horses. The acceleration out of corners is phenomenal. Truly a beast of a machine.
